Locations

What it is

Module for managing the physical places of the business: venues, rooms, studios, offices or operating points.

In the dashboard the navigation item is called Sites. This guide uses “locations” to describe the places you manage there.

When it is visible

It appears under Administration > Sites when the services module is active for the configuration.

  • Admin and Pro with permission on the section can browse the list.
  • Creation and editing are reserved to administrators.
  • If you don't see the section, the module is not active for your configuration.

Main industries

  • Fitness
  • Real Estate
  • Enterprise
  • Multi-venue businesses

Dependencies

Can be linked to:

  • Services: each service is assigned to a venue;
  • Bookings: booking times use the venue's timezone;
  • Team: professionals deliver services at venues;
  • Multilingual: the venue name is managed per language.

Venue list

  1. Open Administration > Sites.
  2. Search by name, city, address or country.
  3. With the language selector you change the language in which venue names are shown.
  4. Open the venue to edit it, or use the row delete action.

Columns: Name, Address, City, Postal code, Country, Actions.

Creating a venue

  1. Open Administration > Sites.
  2. Press New Location.
  3. Fill in the required fields:
FieldWhat it contains
Namevenue name; filled in per language (the name in the default language is required)
Addressstreet and number
Citycity
Postal codepostal code
Countrycountry
Time zonefull IANA identifier, e.g. Europe/Rome (default)
  1. Check the Map preview: the position is looked up automatically from the address. The map is interactive: you can move it, zoom in and click to correct the marker.
  2. Press Save.

Notes:

  • if a venue with the same name in the default language already exists, saving is rejected;
  • if you change address, city, postal code or country, the position on the map is recalculated: check it again before saving.

Editing a venue

  1. Open the venue from the list (name or edit action).
  2. Update the fields or the marker on the map.
  3. Press Save.

Linked services and bookings use the venue's updated data.

Deleting a venue

  1. On the venue's row, choose the delete action.
  2. Confirm in the dialog.

A venue cannot be deleted if it is used by active services: the message says by how many activities it is used. In that case first reassign or delete the linked services in Services.

Deletion is an archival: the venue no longer appears in the list and can no longer be used in new services.

Timezone

The venue timezone is used to calculate booking times.

  • Use a full IANA identifier, for example Europe/Rome.
  • If the venue is in another country, set its correct timezone: the times shown to users depend on this value.
  • The default value is Europe/Rome.

Best practices

  • assign each service the correct venue, especially with multiple active venues;
  • keep address and position up to date: they appear in linked services and bookings;
  • before deleting a venue, check the linked services;
  • fill in the venue name in all active languages if the site is multilingual.
