Scheduled content

What it is

A module for defining alternative site content, shown only in a time window: for example a seasonal break or scheduled maintenance.

In Flo the module is called Website states (under Administration). Each state consists of:

  • a technical key and a name, with one version per active language;
  • a start and end time window;
  • an Enabled switch;
  • a sequence of content blocks (title, text, image, button).

Unlike dynamic content, which updates existing sections, scheduled content temporarily replaces the site view without creating new permanent pages.

When it is visible

It is visible when the feature is enabled for the instance and the user has the dedicated permission. The card is under Administration: viewing is available to admins and enabled Pros, while saving requires the admin role.

Main sectors

  • Fitness and wellness, for seasonal breaks
  • Enterprise, for scheduled maintenance
  • Customers with closures or break periods

How it works

  • The page lists the configured states: you can add, edit or remove them.
  • The site shows the active state only if it is enabled and the current time is inside the time window: start included, end excluded.
  • The windows of enabled states cannot overlap.
  • If no state is active, the site stays in its normal version.

ButtonLabel and URL.

Creating or editing a state

  1. Click Add in the states column.
  2. Fill in key, enabled state, name and time window.
  3. Go to the Blocks tab and add blocks with Add block.
  4. For each block choose the type and fill in the content; drag the blocks or use the arrows to reorder them.
  5. Check the Preview tab.
  6. Click Save states.

Notes:

  • For images you can pick an image from an existing gallery or upload a new one.
  • If there are validation errors, Flo shows them and disables Save states.
  • If you try to leave with unsaved changes, Flo asks for confirmation.

Preview

The Preview tab shows the blocks in the selected language, as they will appear on the site. The preview is local and saves nothing.

Validation rules

  • Key required, unique, with lowercase, numbers and hyphens.
  • Name required in the default language.
  • End after start.
  • From 1 to 20 blocks.
  • Each block must have the content required by its type (text, image with alternative text, label and URL).
  • Valid and safe URLs; formatted texts are sanitized.
  • Enabled windows must not overlap.

Best practices

  • Use descriptive and stable keys: the key identifies the state over time.
  • Schedule the window in advance and check the preview before saving.
  • Prepare name and content in all active languages.
  • Remember that dates are saved in UTC.
